The UniversalHedgePole 18 is Bosch's green range telescopic hedge trimmer for home gardeners, sold here with a 2.5 Ah Power for ALL battery. Bosch positions it for tall and wide hedges. Its appeal is the shared 18V battery system, which spans the whole Bosch home and garden range, rather than any single headline spec.

Our take
What Bosch says it is for
The listing describes the tool as ideal for tall and wide hedges and part of the Universal range, which Bosch pitches at bigger garden projects. A telescopic design means you can shorten it for the sides and lengthen it for the top.
Bosch also lists an electronic anti blocking system. The idea is that the blade keeps moving when it meets a thicker stem, so you get a cleaner cut and fewer stops to clear a jam.
Missing numbers
This is where the listing falls short. It does not give the blade length, the tooth gap, the pole length when extended or the weight. It also does not say whether the head angles. For a long reach trimmer, all of those affect whether it will reach your hedge and how tiring it is to hold.
If you are choosing between this and a rival, take the hedge height and the thickness of the stems you cut and check them against Bosch's own product page.
The battery bundle
The second part of the listing is a PBA 18V 2.5 Ah battery. Bosch says it has no memory effect and no self discharge, and it is protected by Electronic Cell Protection. It fits every tool in the Power for ALL 18V system. A charger is not mentioned, so you will need one if this is your first Bosch green tool.
Against better documented rivals
The Ryobi OPT1845 kit spells out a 45 cm blade, an 18 mm gap and a 115 degree head, and includes a charger. The Bosch Professional GHE 18V-50 TP gives a full set of figures, including a 2.5 m pole and a 23.5 mm tooth opening, but runs on the blue professional batteries rather than the green ones.
Verdict
The UniversalHedgePole 18 suits gardeners already invested in Bosch's green 18V tools who want a telescopic hedge trimmer on the same batteries. Because the listing gives so few figures and no charger, newcomers will find it easier to judge the Ryobi OPT1845 kit, and owners of blue Bosch batteries should look at the GHE 18V-50 TP.
