Our take
EasyEdge and the 33 cm deck
The combs sit at the deck edge and lift grass blades into the cutting path where a normal mower housing would leave a fringe. On a lawn bordered by paving or a fence, that can save a separate trimming session after every cut.
Thirty three centimetres is narrow, chosen for manoeuvrability around beds and in tight corners. On a small square lawn it is quick to steer; on anything larger it will mean many passes.
The 5 Ah battery
The RB18L50 is a Lithium+ pack with a four stage fuel gauge showing 100, 75, 50 and 25 percent. Ryobi lists tough pack construction with built-in impact protection. The battery fits the wider ONE+ system, which the listing puts at over 40 garden and power tools.
No lawn area per charge appears in this listing. Without a charger you also cannot use the kit until you add one, so factor that in if you are new to ONE+.
Adjustments and storage
Five height settings run from 25 mm to 65 mm. The handle is telescopic with three positions, which suits most heights but limits fine adjustment for very tall users. The compact deck and telescopic handle help it fit in a small shed or under the stairs, and the listing does not give a weight or a grass box size, so check those on the product page if they matter.
Alternatives in the same size class
