The Flexman is a straightforward cordless hedge trimmer that arrives with everything needed to start: the tool, a 2.0 Ah battery and a fast charger. It has 56 cm dual action blades and a handle that rotates through 180 degrees. It is aimed at someone with ordinary garden hedges who does not already own a battery system and wants one box, one purchase.

In its favour
- Everything is in the box: the trimmer, a 2.0 Ah battery and a fast charger.
- Dual action blades cut up to 19 mm thick, according to the listing.
- The handle rotates through 180 degrees for trimming the tops and sides of a hedge.
Good to know
- The bullets and the specs give two different weights, so the true weight is unclear.
- A 2.0 Ah battery is small for long hedges, and the listing does not state a run time.
Our take
Blades and cutting capacity
Flexman lists 22 in (56 cm) dual action blades with a cutting diameter of up to 19 mm. Dual action means both blades move against each other, which the listing says gives less vibration and lower noise than a single moving blade. A 19 mm capacity covers normal annual growth on privet, laurel and similar hedges.
The listing also quotes a speed range of 1,500 to 5,800 RPM, but it does not explain how that relates to strokes per minute, so it is hard to compare with other brands.
The rotating handle
A rear handle that turns through 180 degrees is useful when trimming the top of a hedge, because you can keep your wrist straight while the blade lies flat. The listing also mentions a soft, non slip rubber grip.
Battery, charger and weight
The box includes a 20V 2.0 Ah battery and a fast charger, and Flexman says a full charge takes about an hour. The listing does not give a run time. A 2.0 Ah pack is modest, so a long hedge may need a break to recharge. The listing does not state the plug type of the charger.
Weight is unclear. One bullet gives a figure in lb, while the specs give 3.65 kg. These cannot both be right for the same configuration, so check the figure before relying on it.
How it compares
The Ryobi 18V 22 in trimmer has the same blade length and 19 mm capacity on a better known battery platform, but its listing does not say if a battery is included. The Makita DUH523RF is shorter at 52 cm and better documented on comfort, with a five cushion anti vibration frame.
Verdict
Buy the Flexman if you want a complete, ready to use kit for normal garden hedges and do not need it to share batteries with other branded tools. If you prefer a known platform or clearer specs, the Makita DUH523RF is the safer choice, and Ryobi ONE+ owners can use the 22 in Ryobi with batteries they already have.
