Deck width and drive
At 53 cm, the steel deck is the widest among the mulching mowers in our guide, so each pass covers more lawn. The drive is self-propelled with an adjustable speed of 0.9 to 3.6 mph, letting you match your walking pace. That helps on slopes and on long runs where pushing a heavy mower gets tiring.
Amazon lists the weight at 29.9 kg. The drive does the work while mowing, but you will still feel the weight when lifting or storing it.
Clipping modes and heights
You can switch between mulching, collection and side discharge. Mulching suits regular summer cuts, collection gives a tidier finish, and side discharge helps with long, wet grass. The specs list a cutting height range of about 33 to 97 mm, and an LED headlight is mentioned in the highlights. For mulching in particular, a high top setting lets you take only the tips off longer grass, which is kinder to the lawn.
Battery and warranty

If you already own Makita batteries, the DLM462Z is the better known option, and for smaller lawns the Greenworks 48V 41 cm is lighter and complete.
