This listing for the Ecovacs Goat O1000 RTK, part number GO1000R, puts speed of setup first. Ecovacs says the mower maps your lawn automatically and is ready in about five minutes, with no wire to dig in. It is rated for lawns up to a quarter acre, about 1,000 m², and slopes up to 45%. It is the most accessible way into satellite guided mowing among the robots we compare, suited to a typical open suburban lawn.

Our take
Navigation stack
Positioning combines RTK satellite correction with vision and 3D ToF sensing, which Ecovacs calls LiDAR-Enhanced RTK. The listing promises centimetre level accuracy, fewer missed patches and neat patterns, including around trees and complex landscaping. It does not say what is needed for the RTK reference, so ask whether a base station or antenna must be mounted and where.
Obstacles and terrain
AIVI 3D obstacle avoidance detects furniture, toys, trees and pets. The mower passes through gaps of about 70 cm (2.3 ft) and climbs slopes up to 45%, roughly 24 degrees. Cutting width is about 22 cm and height runs from about 30 mm to 80 mm. Amazon lists the battery average life as 65 minutes.
App control
Everything is set in the Ecovacs app: multiple zones, no-go areas, cutting height, schedules and live progress. The listing emphasises low maintenance, with no fuel, oil changes or spark plugs, and describes the mower as quiet, though it gives no decibel figure. Amazon lists the weight at 10.7 kg, considerably less than the 20.2 kg shown on the other Goat O1000 RTK listing, which suggests one of the figures includes packaging. No assembly is required.
Points of caution and alternatives
The listing is written for the US market, with square feet and references to gas mowers, so check the charger plug and UK support. The Ecovacs Goat O1000 LiDAR Pro avoids the satellite question altogether and suits shaded plots. For a small lawn on a tighter scope, the Worx Landroid WR142E and the Gardena Sileno minimo 500 are wired alternatives with clearer UK details.
Verdict
Choose this Goat O1000 RTK for an open lawn of up to about 1,000 m² with slopes, if quick wire-free setup is the attraction and you can confirm UK support. For a shady garden, the Ecovacs Goat O1000 LiDAR Pro is better suited, and for a mid-size lawn with a UK warranty route, the Worx Landroid WR142E is a safer bet.
