The Automower 430 V is Husqvarna's wire-free option in this comparison, using a virtual perimeter instead of a boundary cord. The listing gives a 50% maximum slope inside the working area, the steepest figure among the three Automowers we compare. It is aimed at larger, hilly gardens where laying a wire would be a real chore and where the backing of Husqvarna's dealer network appeals.

Our take

What the listing tells you

The Amazon listing is extremely thin. It confirms a virtual perimeter with no perimeter cord, a 50% maximum slope within the working area, and spare part availability for five years in the EU. The dimensions are listed as 54 by 75 by 28 cm. The work area figure reads as 51,667 m², which is far beyond any domestic robot, and looks like an error. Treat the rated area as unknown until a dealer or Husqvarna confirms it.

Why a virtual perimeter matters

With a boundary wire robot, every change to the garden, a new bed or a moved path, means digging up and relaying cable. A virtual perimeter is drawn and edited in software, so changes are simpler, and there is no cable for a spade or edging tool to cut. The listing does not explain how the virtual boundary is set up or whether any reference station is needed, so ask before buying.

Coping with steep banks

Fifty per cent is roughly 27 degrees, which covers most steep banks in British gardens. Only the Worx Landroid Vision Cloud claims more among the robots we compare, at 84%. The Husqvarna Automower 315 tops out at 40% and needs a wire.

What to confirm before buying

Because so few specifications are listed, check cutting width, cutting height range, battery runtime, noise and the true rated area with a Husqvarna dealer. Ask about app features and anti-theft as well, since none are mentioned on this page. The listing title also contains an apparent typo, naming it Auto Motor rather than Automower.

The smaller Husqvarna Automower 405VE is the other wire-free Husqvarna here, with EdgeCut and AI object detection listed, but it also gives no area or slope figures.

Verdict

Choose the 430 V if you have a large, steep lawn, want no wire and value Husqvarna support, but confirm the real specification with a dealer first. For a documented wired option, the Husqvarna Automower 315 states 1,500 m² and 40%, and for the steepest ground the Worx Landroid Vision Cloud claims 84%.
